Governor Brad Little’s Public Safety Proposal

On August 19, 2020 the Chubbuck City Council voted to maintain the same budget for FY21 that it has operated under for FY20. The Mayor and Council also made the decision to participate in Governor Brad Little’s public safety proposal that uses up to $200 million of federal coronavirus relief funds for public safety personnel salaries in Idaho’s cities and counties. The City of Chubbuck has been allocated $1.6 million from the Governor’s program, which is estimated to save the Chubbuck taxpayers on their 2020 tax bill.

If any of our residents have questions about how this program will impact their tax bill, or their 2021 mortgage/escrow reassessment, they should contact the Bannock County Assessor’s Office at 208.236.7260 or their mortgage lender.

City Officials would like to emphasize that Governor Brad Little’s public safety proposal is designed only for tax year 2020, as a one-time tax relief program. In 2021, taxes will return to previous levels.
