JOB OPPORTUNITIES:  

Parks Maintenance Worker

Primary duties include but are not limited to operating commercial irrigation systems. Other duties include but are not limited to applying herbicide and fertilizer applications, mowing and trimming, maintaining and operating splash pads, snow removal and other maintenance and custodial tasks.

This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay. The starting pay rate is $16.69 to $19.69 per hour and is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. City benefits apply.  

The preferred candidate will have experience with commercial irrigation systems.   Parks and Recreation licenses and certifications are also preferred as are OSHA safety certifications.  However, these certifications and licenses are not required at hire, but the candidate hired must obtain specific licenses and certifications within set time frames.

GIS Coordinator

The GIS (geographic information system) Coordinator drives effective use of GIS resources to improve City operations and achieve applicable goals of the City.  The GIS Coordinator promotes the development and application of GIS technology, provides support to those using GIS and creates, maintains and updates the GIS resources of the City.

This is an hourly position eligible for overtime pay.  The pay range is $29.57 to $34.89, but is negotiable based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.  Health, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off and other benefits apply.

A bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field is required.  At least three years of GIS experience is also required.   GISP Certification is preferred as is a master’s degree in GIS, geosciences, or related computer field.

Police Officer – Patrol

The City of Chubbuck is currently accepting applications for the position of Patrol Officer. This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay.  The entry level pay is $23.34 per hour.

The principal functions of a Patrol Officer are to enforce state and local laws and ordinances, respond to calls for the protection of life and property, conduct criminal and non-criminal investigations, make arrests and perform other assigned law enforcement and public safety duties. All officers must successfully complete the Field Training Program and become Idaho POST (Peace Officer Standard and Training) Certified within the first year of employment.

Interested candidates begin the selection process by completing and submitting an extensive application including all required supporting documents. Failure to disclose information or providing false information will result in disqualification.  This is followed by cognitive testing. Candidates meeting expectations will participate in an oral board interview.  Candidates who pass the oral board will then be subject to physical testing, a background investigation, truth verification, psychological evaluation, medical examination and drug screening.
