THE ANNUAL CITY OF CHUBBUCK CHRISTMAS LIGHTING CONTEST 2024 DATES ANNOUNCED.
Light Up Chubbuck! Get Ready to Shine Bright This Holiday Season! The holidays are here, and it’s time to deck the halls (and yards!) for Chubbuck’s Annual Holiday Decorating Contest! Whether you’re aiming to have the jolliest house on the block or the most spectacular street in town, the City of Chubbuck wants to see your holiday spirit! We’re inviting all residents and businesses to participate, so gather the family, bring out the decorations, and let your creativity sparkle!
Open to everyone within the Chubbuck City Limits, this year’s contest is a fun way to spread holiday cheer, show off your community pride, and make the season brighter for everyone! There’s a category for everyone to enjoy, with awards for Best Animation, Most Colorful, Most Traditional, Spirit of the Season (2), Best Commercial/Business Display, the ever-popular Clark Griswold Award (most lights), and Best Overall Display! This year, judges are especially on the lookout for NEW and DIFFERENT—so if your display looks the same as last year, it most likely won’t win an award. Fresh ideas, new decorations, and creative touches will be what dazzles the judges most this season!
Want to bring holiday magic to your entire street or neighborhood? Rally your neighbors, decorate together, and you might win special recognition for the Best Decorated Neighborhood, Street or Cul-de-Sac! If you spot a house, business, street, or neighborhood that deserves a shoutout, let us know by emailing ChubbuckLightscontest@gmail.com or messaging the City of Chubbuck on Facebook. Be sure to include the address, photos, and which award you think they should win. Submissions are open until 5 p.m. on December 2nd.
Judging will be based on curb appeal and will consider only the decorations visible from the street side of each property. Corner lots will be judged from both streets, but please remember that judges won’t enter any yards. We’re looking for unique designs, creative themes, clever placement of decorations, and displays that bring a fresh holiday spirit! Think about adding new features, creative layouts, or fun, quirky touches—let your imagination run wild!
Important Dates:
- Judging will take place from December 2nd through December 8th. Be sure to have your lights on from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. during this period to give the judges plenty of time to enjoy your display!
- Winners will be announced on December 9th, with a festive press release on December 9th and a special yard sign delivered no later than December 10th.
Winners will be recognized on the City website, social media, and will even be featured in the local news! So, let’s make this the most magical, merry, and bright holiday season yet in Chubbuck! Happy decorating, and may your holidays be filled with cheer!
