As a service to single-family homes in Chubbuck the City offers a free tree limb chipping service. This service is for yearly tree branch/brush maintenance and should not be used as a tree removal service.
To better serve the community and allow all of our residents to take advantage of the branch chipping service please bring your branches down to the parking lot at Capell Park (5246 Park Lawn Dr.) on the following dates from 8am to 12 (noon).

- April 23
- April 30
- May 7
- May 14 (City Cleanup Day)
- May 21
Branches must be no more than 6 inches in diameter at the base of the cut.

Items that WILL NOT be accepted are tires, paint, oil, chemicals, food, kitchen garbage, refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers.
There will be a second Free Day, Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 8am –1pm at Capell Park (5246 Park Lawn Dr.).

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Land Use & Development Commission of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, will conduct a Public Hearing at 6:00 pm on April 12, 2022 at Chubbuck City Council Chambers, 290 East Linden Ave., Chubbuck, Idaho. Public hearings will be held with respect to the following items:
- An application for a Conditional Use Permit for apartments in the General Commercial zone, comprising approximately 10 acres of land. Subject property is generally located at the southeast corner of Knudsen Blvd and Hawthorne Rd in Chubbuck, Idaho. The application will be reviewed against criteria in section 18.28.020.C.5 of City Code. Type of Action: Decision. (Action Item)
- An application for a Conditional Use Permit for a school expansion in the Agriculture (A) and Limited Residential (R-2) zones, expanding from approximately 8 acres to 14 acres of land. Subject property is generally located at 1295 Alpine Ave in Chubbuck, Idaho. The application will be reviewed against criteria in section 18.28.020.C.5 of City Code. Type of Action: Decision. (Action Item)
- A petition by the City of Chubbuck to create a new Chapter 18.18 Chubbuck Village and two new land use districts, Highway Corridor (HC) and Village (V); to change the Land Use District (zone) from General Commercial (C-2) to a new district, Highway Corridor (HC), on approximately 17 acres of land comprising several parcels with Chubbuck Road at the north, Yellowstone Avenue at the west, Interstate 86 at the south, and east from Yellowstone Avenue approximately 250 feet to the eastern boundary line of each parcel bordering the east side of Yellowstone Avenue, including parcels on the north side of E Burnside Avenue; and to change the Land Use District (zone) from General Commercial (C-2) and Limited Residential (R-2) to a new district, Village (V), on approximately 53 acres of land comprising multiple parcels with Chubbuck Road at the north, Yellowstone Avenue at the west, Interstate 86 at the south, Central Way at the east, Evans Lane and the southern boundary of the property located at 5432 Burley Drive at the south, and the Union Pacific Railroad at the east, excluding parcels as described above to be included in the Highway Corridor (HC) zone; setting forth the purpose and intent, special provisions and relations to other chapters of city code, and a regulating plan for the two districts; establishing special standards within the two districts for streets and right-of-way, building design and sidewalk frontage, land and building uses, landscaping, parking, and signage; amending Chapter 18.06 Definitions, adding definitions of form-based zoning and traditional Euclidian zoning; amending Chapter 18.08 Land Use Districts and General Controls with clarifications of relationship to different General Controls in Chapter 18.18 Chubbuck Village, Chapter 18.20 Planned Unit Developments, and Chapter 18.21 Creative Communities. The Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map currently designates the area for Commercial or Employment uses, and is under consideration to change to a new area, Chubbuck Village, per draft chapter 16 of the Comprehensive Plan. The application will be reviewed against criteria in section 18.28.050.B.8 of city code. Type of action: (Action Item)
Written testimony must be received by jbowers@cityofchubbuck.us at least 7 days prior to the hearing, shall comply with standards established in City resolution 2021-06. A complete description of each item is available to the public on request to jbowers@cityofchubbuck.us. Commission packet will be available upon request to the same email by April 6, 2022. Any and all persons may register comments, protests, or agreements on the hearing subjects being considered. Oral testimony concerning these proposals may be offered at the public hearing. Commission may limit oral testimony. 2022 Chubbuck Rec. Leagues – Registration & Season Dates
Boys Baseball
Registration will begin on February 8th – March 12th for the following ages: Mustang – Ages 9 & 10; Bronco – Ages 11 & 12; Pony – Ages 13 & 14. (We are allowing 15 year old players, please contact the league president to register.) Registration Cost is $90 per player.
Tryouts will be held on Monday, March 28th @ Cotant Park starting at 5:30pm.
Games will begin Monday, April 11th and run thru Mid June.
Girls Fastpitch Softball
Registration will begin on March 1st – March 31st for the following ages: Fastpitch 8U – Ages 7 & 8; Fastpitch 10U – 9 & 10; Fastpitch 12U – Ages 11 & 12; Fastpitch 14U – Ages 13 & 14. Registration Cost is $50 per player.
Tryouts will be held on Monday, May 2nd @ Capel Park starting at 5:30pm.
Games will being Tuesday, May 23rd and run thru Mid July.
Backyard Baseball (t-ball and pitch machine)
Registration will begin on April 4th – April 30th for the following ages: Foals – Ages 3 & 4; Shetland – Ages 5 & 6; Pinto – Ages 7 & 8 (pitching machine). Registration Cost is $40 per player.
Games will begin May 31st and run thru June 30th.
