City of Chubbuck Comprehensive Plan Update

Introduction

The Comprehensive Plan is a 20-year vision for Chubbuck and its residents. The Plan will also be the City’s strategic plan and reflect the voice of residents and be the guiding document for shaping Chubbuck’s future. The vision and corresponding action-steps provide a common language to connect various City plans, policies and programs to the Community’s identified vision. Creating a comprehensive plan isn’t an overnight task. The Plan will take nearly two-years to complete and will include a wide-variety of community outreach methods and collaboration between City leaders and community members.

Overview

• The Comprehensive Plan, while being required for local planning and zoning decisions, will help drive the City’s policies and actions across all departments and functions of the City, including police, fire, streets, sanitation, parks, building, water/sewer, etc.
• The Comprehensive Plan will address numerous topics, as found in Idaho Code section 67-6508.
• The Comprehensive Plan will also contain short-term goals and action plans to create the City’s strategic plan, a 5 year plan with measurable objectives.
• Creating a comprehensive plan isn’t an overnight task. The Plan will take nearly two years to complete and will include a wide-variety of community outreach methods and collaboration between City leaders and community members.
• The current Comprehensive Plan contains many excellent goals, policies, and objectives but given the growth in the community and technologic changes across society since its adoption, this update will assess the community’s desired direction for the City.
• There will be numerous opportunities for community members to voice their input including surveys/questionnaires, interviews, public hearings, and open houses. Please follow the City’s Facebook and Instagram pages to stay in the loop about opportunities to provide comment.
