Fall leaves will be picked up every Monday, from October 2 to November 27. Leaves must be bagged and placed in the front of your property next to sidewalk. Call the City at 208-417-7175 to be placed on the weekly list. This service is for leaves only, please NO branches, grass clippings or fruit.

Land Use Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Land Use & Development Commission of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, will conduct a Public Hearing at 6:00 pm on October 10, 2023 at Chubbuck City Council Chambers, 290 East Linden Ave., Chubbuck, Idaho. Public hearings will be held with respect to the following items:

  1. A petition by City Staff to amend Chubbuck City Code Chapter 18.06 to add a new definition of “hotels or motels”, and to amend the schedule of general controls, section 18.08.040, regarding the permitted locations of hotels and motels, to limit them, as defined, to the General Commercial (C-2) zoning district. Type of action: Recommendation to City Council.

Written testimony must be received by jbowers@cityofchubbuck.us at least 7 days prior to the hearing, shall comply with standards established in City resolution 2021-06. A complete description of each item is available to the public on request to jbowers@cityofchubbuck.us. Commission packets are generally available the week before the meeting at https://cityofchubbuck.us/land-use-commission/ or are available by contacting the City Clerk. Any and all persons may register comments, protests, or agreements on the hearing subjects being considered. Oral testimony concerning these proposals may be offered at the public hearing. Commission may limit oral testimony.

September 4, 2023 (Labor Day)

City Offices will be closed on Monday September 4, 2023 in observance of Labor Day. City Offices will reopen on Tuesday September 5, 2023 at 7:30am. Sanitation will run as normal. Please remember to always have your garbage and recycle can out by 7:00 AM.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, will conduct a Public Hearing at 6:00 pm on September 20, 2023 in accordance with Idaho Code 63-1311A, and with respect to the following items: to consider public comment regarding proposed fee increases in excess of five percent (5%) of the amount of the fee last collected or regarding proposed new fees with respect to Wastewater Connection, Water Rates, Water Connection, and a 3% convenience fee that will be charged on all card transactions.

Information about the proposed rates and changes is available to the public on request at the City Office. Oral testimony concerning these proposals may be offered at the public hearing. Mayor may limit oral testimony. Any and all persons may register comments, protests, or agreements on the hearing subject being considered. Written testimony must be received by the City Clerk at least 7 days prior to the hearing, shall comply with standards established in City Code 18.28.020.D.7, and shall be considered public record.

Notice of Candidate Filing Deadline

NOTICE OF CANDIDATE FILING DEADLINE
CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That the general election to be held in and for the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. The election will be held for the purpose of electing the following offices for the specified terms: two Councilmembers (seat 1 & 3) for a term of four years each, and one Councilmember (seat 4) for a term of two years.
Candidates for the city elected office are required to file a Declaration of Candidacy with the City Clerk; specifying the office sought and affirming that the individual is a qualified city elector, meaning: at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, the candidate’s primary residence must be within the city, the address of the candidate’s voter registration must match the residence address provided on the candidate’s declaration, and the candidate must have resided in the city for at least 30 days prior to submitting their declaration. If a person claims an exemption under section 63-602G, Idaho Code, then the homestead for which the exemption is claimed shall be the person’s residence for voting purposes. The Declaration of Candidacy must be accompanied by: (1) a nonrefundable filing fee of $40 or (2) a Petition of Candidacy signed by at least five qualified city electors with the signatures verified by the county clerk’s office. The deadline for filing Declarations of Candidacy is Friday, September 8, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. Declarations of Candidacy are available at City Hall in the office of the City Clerk at 290 East Linden Chubbuck, ID 83202.
